I Am An American - I'm Proud of My Liberty [Hymn]

The words of this song can give us a remembrance of a very different time. It’s been said that America was great because Americans were good. That goodness came from the foundation of Biblical morality which was based on the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. Not that everyone believed them, nor acted upon them. But lip service was given, and few would take pride in flaunting open sin.

Can we get the essence of that America back? Not likely. Neither political party has any interest in anything like that.

As American Christians we can and must appreciate the great freedoms we still have, no matter how tarnished they may be. God bless America, and please, let us live a quiet life, that we may do right. Protect us from evil, and help us to stand. Renew in us a remembrance of the good. Amen.

God bless you today, dear friends.
