Redefining Evangelical Christianity - A Great Message from Pastor Bob DeWaay [Video]

“This video begins with a 2018 update on the appeal we [Rev. Bob DeWaay] had made to Rick Warren to preach Christ. This appeal was obviously rejected because he continues to preach his unbiblical, man-centered message.

“In the video, we cite from Warren’s 1995 book called ‘The Purpose Driven Church.’ In his own words he states that the ‘felt needs’ of those he calls ‘unchurched’ must determine the message of the church. He specifically claims that people are not interested in truth. This puts the seeker movement in direct opposition to the Biblical definition of the church and its role to be ‘the pillar and support of the truth.’

“In the video we cite many passages from the Bible that define the church. The church is the household of God and fellowship in the church is grounded in the blood atonement. Those who are dead in sin see no need for such things.

“In case after case, we show that Warren’s claims are in direct opposition to the clear teaching of the Bible. We also discuss the ungodly roots of the seeker movement and why is so harmful to evangelical Christianity.

“Those who know Christ cannot have true Christian fellowship with the world that is founded on common human needs and desires. Our fellowship is with Christ and one another through the Holy Spirit. The Bible teaches that the unsaved person is not even able to please God.

It is absurd to preach ‘how to’ sermons to the lost who lack the power or desire to please God. The alternative is to preach the truth of Christ so that people will be converted out of the world and into the church as defined in the Bible.
