Tuesday I found myself in the cardiac care unit of NYU Langone Medical Center. On the way to the emergency room I wondered for a few minutes if I were on my way to meet my old friend John Harrell on the other side.
On Monday night, June 30, 2008, a bright light departed. John was my buddy. He was one of my closest friends, and probably among the best friends of many people who knew him.
