Stand and Deliver?
The term “Stand and Deliver” comes from the days of highway robbery in Britain. Drivers were forced to stop. Passengers were ordered to “stand” (outside the coach) and “deliver” (all their valuables). Those who resisted were punished.
Today people all over the world are being coerced into behaving in ways which have been proven to be detrimental to their health, wealth, and even their lives. All of these points are provable, but that is not the point of this post.
Someone asked Martin Luther once if Christians should defend themselves if attacked “Never,” said Luther. “But what if we see someone else being harmed?” “Then you must do everything in your power to go to their aid.”
