Books

Reading actual books whether in print or on a Kobo ebook reader is a great joy. I love novels of all kinds, and find time every day. I have two shelves of older anthologies and short story collections, and find them refreshing at times if I feel in a reading ‘slump’.

Some authors and titles I’ve found particularly engaging recently include:
  • Tana French. The Searcher (2020) - Detective Mystery, Ireland
  • Noah Gordon. The Rabbi (1965) - Historical Fiction, US
  • Susan Howatch. The Wonder Worker (1997) - Historical Fiction, Christian, Anglican, UK
  • Nelson Demille. Mayday (1979) - Thriller, Airline, US
  • Marcel Montecino. The Crosskiller (1988) - Thriller, US
  • Scott Turow. The Burden of Proof (1990) - Legal Thriller
  • Robert Whitlow. The Living Room (2013) - Christian, Legal Thriller.
  • Erle Stanley Gardner. The Case of the Lazy Lover (1947)All Perry Mason mysteries are refreshing.
  • Stanley Weyman. Ovington’s Bank (1922)Historical Fiction. One of my favorite authors.
  • Friedlander (ed). Out of the Whirlwind: A Reader of Holocaust Literature (1999/1965) - Essential in light of the growing Jew-hatred infecting the world and the church.
